Director of urban development

Baltimore area

We are seeking a Director of Urban Development to manage relationships with the public school district decision makers in order to promote our products and services to public, private and religious schools.  The candidate must have current relationship with 75-100 public school districts nationally.  The compensation structure is negotiable, but is base salary plus commission.

Roles/responsibilities:

• Development of a national strategy and sales plan.
• Work with Sales and Operations teams to promote our products and services in urban areas.
• Develop and maintain relationships with appropriate network of Public School Superintendents, Title 1 officials and other administrators, local community leaders, and other influential constituents.
• Establish and maintain relationships with existing client base, focusing on customer retention and program expansion. 

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and at least eight years of related experience preferably in the area of education sales
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, and organizational skills.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and Lotus Notes.
• Must have the ability to appropriately communicate with and influence all levels of constituents.
