Position: Commercial Sales Representative

Compensation: Base salary for 6- 12 months of $60 – 70K, ultimately to full commission yielding $90 – 100K in year 1.  Full benefits, car allowance, cell phone, etc.

We are looking for Commercial Sales Representative in the Northern Virginia/DC area to create long-term relationships with contractors, builders, architects and developers through networking, cold-calling, warm-calling, getting referrals, attending trade shows and any other business development activities that lead to recurring business.

Roles and Responsibilities Summary:

  • Work lead lists and generate your own leads through community involvement, networking, canvassing, etc. Strive to continuously build skills, knowledge and an expertise of all corporate products, product availability and restrictions.
  • Prepare bids and estimations for prospects.
  • Represent and promote the organization along with its products and services to commercial developers, architects, and builders as required. You will need to attend networking events and trade shows.
  • Compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads based on information from ad inquiries, trade shows, direct mail responses, aged leads, business directories, internet websites, and other sources.
  • Make outbound lead follow-up calls to potential and existing customers by telephone and email to qualify leads, sell products and services.
  • Handle in-bound sales lead calls to convert calls into sales.
  • Provide product demonstrations to qualified clients.
  • Establish, develop and maintain rewarding customer relationships.

Requirements:

  • 3 to 5 years of sales experience, does not have to be in the construction industry – but need to be a proven “hunter”.
  • Be entrepreneurial – most of your business is developed remotely.  Must be able to manage your own schedule.
  • Have completed some college work (a degree is preferred).
  • Be energetic, a team player and a polished, professional.
