The Missing Link – RESET

Posted on November 8, 2012 by Joe Mechlinski

First, I want to thank all of you who read and responded to Tuesday’s post. What a wonderful dialogue that message inspired! I got a ton of feedback. I’d like to state for the record that the title of Tuesday’s message, Why the Election Doesn’t Really Matter, was tongue-in-cheek. I firmly believe that it is our civic duty to be informed, engaged voters, and it’s a duty I take seriously. The point I was trying to make was that no matter who is elected, each of us business leaders has the power to shape our organization’s destiny going forward. Each of us has the power to grow regardless. Each of us has the ability to implement change.

So in this season of change, if I could give you (and President Obama!) one piece of advice, it would be this: hit the RESET button and begin anew. At eQ, we know that a properly-executed RESET is the missing link in most organizational change initiatives, which is why the vast majority of them fail. We have taught hundreds of businesses how to carry out a successful reset, and we’ve summarized the process in a short video that not only shows you how to RESET with your entire company including your employees, your clients and your community, it also breaks down:

  • The five elements of RESET
  • Four components to help you get back on track as a leader
  • Why it’s OK (and necessary!) to be vulnerable
  • Why it’s OK (and necessary!) to be wrong

Click HERE to watch the video… and feel free to pass it on to the President!
